ストレスチェックって意味あるの？

50以上の事業所は義務だから、仕方なくストレスチェックをやっている。ストレスチェックをやっても意味ない。けど、義務だからね．．．

そんな事業所の方もいらっしゃるかと思います。

ストレスチェックをただ、やっているだけでは、本来のストレスチェックの意味はありません。

ストレスチェック制度がスタートした背景

ストレスチェックは、そもそも、職場が原因でメンタル疾患になり、そこからの自殺者が増えた。という背景から、企業がメンタルヘルスの問題に取り組むきっかけとして、作られたものです。

ですので、一言でいうと、職場が原因で精神疾患になり、自殺する人を減らす。目的からの制度ですので、人の命にかかわる、重要な取り組みです。

ストレスチェックの意味

ストレスチェックの大きな目的は「メンタルヘルス不調の未然防止」になります。

この「メンタルヘルス不調の未然防止」には二つの意味があり

  1. 自分のストレス状態に気づき、セルフケアを行うことで、ストレスからくるメンタル不調を未然に防ぐ。
  2. ストレスチェックの集団分析の結果から、職場環境改善を行い、働きやすい職場をつくり、ストレスからくるメンタルヘルス不調を未然に防ぐ。

この二つが、ストレスチェックを行う、意味になります。

ストレスチェックを意味あるものにするために

ストレスチェックを行い、そのまま本人へ結果を渡す。これだけでは、意味のあるストレスチェックにはなりません。

自分のストレス状態に気づき、セルフケアを行う

ストレスチェックを意味のある者にするためには、ストレスチェック実施者との連携が必要になります。個人情報の観点から、人事部や総務部が個人の結果を見ることはできないので、ストレスチェック実施者（産業保健スタッフ）に対応してもらいます。

＜ストレスチェック実施者（産業保健スタッフ）が行うこと＞

  • ストレスチェックの結果、ストレスが高い人に、産業医面談の前に産業保健スタッフによる面談を実施する。
  • 面談の際は、本人のストレスチェックの結果に応じた、メンタルヘルスのセルフケアの方法についてお伝えする。
  • 職場環境や職場での人間関係、仕事内容等で悩んでいる場合は、本人の許可を得て、本人の上司に情報伝える。
  • 症状に応じて、専門的な病院の受診を勧める。
  • 必要に応じて、産業医面談の勧奨を行う。
  • 継続的な面談を希望する場合は、次の面談日を決定する。

ストレスチェックの集団分析の結果から、職場環境改善を行い、働きやすい職場をつくる

こちらに関しては、ハードルが高く感じる方もいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、

簡単に言うと、自分たちで働いている職場の問題をストレスチェックの集団分析の結果をもとに考え、自分たちで改善できる対策を考え、実行し、評価し、改善していく。これにつきます。

上司や経営者が職場環境改善を行うのではなく、自分たちの職場を自分たちで働きやすいように改善していきます。大きなことからではなく、ちょっとしたできることから、始めていくのがポイントです。

＜例＞

同僚の支援が低い場合には
→　挨拶をするときは笑顔で
→　「ありがとう」を積極的に伝える

仕事の量の負担が多い場合には
→勤務開始時に、各人の業務スケジュールを共有する
→作業場の整理整頓を行い、作業動線をスムーズにする

など、スモールステップでやっていくのがポイントです。

まとめ

コロナ禍の中、さまざまな場面で、ストレスを抱えることが増えてきています。また、誰とも会えない環境から、一人で抱え込むケースも増えています。ストレスチェックを意味がないものではなく、意味のあるものにしていくために、是非ストレスチェックを有効に活用して頂きたいと思います。
